About OCD Maps

Maps of places, made by travellers.

OCD Maps is for people who keep lists of places: the restaurants worth the trip, the shops that still make things by hand, the sights you mean to get to. Put them on a map, sort them your way, walk them as a route, and share the map or keep it to yourself.

13 public maps · 22,919 places to explore, no account needed.

Everything public is open to everyone, on any device.

  • Browse public maps

Search maps by name, or start from the ones other travellers have filled with hundreds of places.

  • Filter what you see

Narrow a map down by category, icon, colour, favourites and the times places suit a visit.

  • Follow a route

Open a map's public walking routes and send them to Google Maps for directions.

  • Take it offline

Install OCD Maps on your phone and save a map, basemap included, for when there is no signal.

With a free account

Build your own maps, and use them wherever you are.

  • Maps of your own

Places and drawn areas on as many maps as you like, each with a category from Google Maps' own list, your own icon and colour, notes, opening hours, rating and link.

  • Mark what matters

Favourite and diamond the best places, tick off the ones you have visited and say whether you would go back, and set the days and times each place is worth visiting.

  • Walking routes

Put places in order and get the real walking line with its distance and time, directions in Google Maps, a buzz when you reach each stop, and a log of the days you walked it.

Maps are private until you publish them. Keep some categories to yourself when you do, and decide whether others may copy the whole map or pick places from it.

  • Linked maps

Show another map's places next to yours — a public "best milkshakes of the world" map on your city map — always up to date, and only the ones near your own if you prefer.

  • Offline, on your phone

Install it from the browser like an app, save a map for offline use, and it keeps itself up to date whenever you are back online.

  • Save from Google Maps

The Chrome extension adds the Google Maps place you are looking at to any of your maps, with its category, rating, address and hours filled in. Or import a CSV.

  • Your AI assistant

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client with one sign-in, and ask it to build a map, add places, plan a route or look through public maps for you.

  • Your trips

A private log of where you have been and where you are going: dates, flights, where you stayed and what it cost, on a map of its own.
